What can I do to get the best 3D/4D images? Drink an additional 20-30 ounces everyday before your appointment. Eat a meal in the hour before your appointment. Above all you can do, be happy and patient. Most babies just need time. There are several uncontrolled factors that can also affect how well we can image your baby. The position of the baby or placenta, and girth of the mother can all have an affect. Thinner women image more easily than thicker women. Back to top What is the difference between 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound? A 2D image shows only a splice of the baby on a single plane. 3D refers to 3 dimensional still images. 4D refers to the moving video of the 3 dimensional image. Back to top When are you open? Our phone lines are open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 7pm. Appointments are available Friday and Saturday from 9am to 8pm, or Monday through Thursday from 7-8:30am or 5:30-8pm. Back to top Is 4D Ultrasound safe? Yes. We use low intensity sound waves that are applied for short periods at a time. Thousands of "invitro babies" have been scanned with ultrasound weekly without any known ill effects. A 2004 study of 2,700 children found that there was no developmental or physical differences between children who had been exposed to multiple ultrasounds and those who were exposed to just one. SOURCES: Newnham, J. The Lancet, Dec. 4, 2004; vol 364: pp 2038-2044. News release, The Lancet. Back to top Do you accept insurance? On site we only offer keepsake ultrasound. We do not offer medical ultrasound and cannot take medical insurance. Back to top How early can you see the gender of the baby? By 14 weeks we can usually see gender clearly, however most of our packages have gender determination available at 16 weeks. If you are 16 weeks or over, and we can't tell the gender, we'll bring you back for free within 30 days. Please note, we do not offer early gender determination as part of any sex selective abortion. Since abortion is a medical procedure, any scan preliminary to it would be a medical scan. We do not offer medical sonograms. Back to top How good are your images? Click here to see for yourself. Back to top How qualified is your ultrasound tech/sonographer? We operate from a doctor's office and have have multiple sonographers with varying years experience. Each has well over a thousand scans logged and are fully competent to provide you the best 3D/4D sonogram possible. Back to top How long is an appointment? Our sessions are about 20 to 30 minutes. Back to top How many friends and family members can I bring with me? Seated there is room for six people in addition to you and your baby. If some don't mind standing you might squeeze in a few more. Back to top What forms of payment do you accept? Cash, credit card, and debit card. No checks. Back to top When is the best time to do a 3D/4D ultrasound? It really depends on what you want to see. Many women come early on (14-20 weeks) to see the gender and are amazed by how developed their baby is. Your baby's cheeks will have probably filled out between 28 and 32 weeks. Back to top How much do you charge? Please see our Pricing page. Back to top Do I need to make an appointment? Yes.
